Heer Lyrics
Jogiyan De Kannan Vich
In the ears of the yogis,
Kachdiyan Mundraan
There are delicate rings.
Mundraan Nishaniyan Fakeer Diyaan
The rings are marks of the ascetic,
Palle Paa Gayiyaan Fakeeri Akhhaan Heer Diyaan
I have embraced the simplicity of Heer’s eyes.
Saanu De Gayiyaan Fakeeri Akhhaan Heer Diyaan
They have given me the simple, innocent eyes of Heer.
Jado Hasdi Tu
When you smile,
Phullan Nu Tareli Aavdi
Flowers seem to bloom,
Teri Vekh Ke Rawani
Seeing you,
Maut Saham Jaavdi
Death itself feels afraid.
Kaala Gajra Dang Chalave
The black garland swings,
Maithon Roop Na Jhallya Jave
My beauty can never be matched,
Karaan Sifat’an Ki
What praises can I sing
Teri Tasveer Diyaan
Of your picture?
Teri Deed De Aaye Mere
Your sight came to me,
Mere Do Nain Ni
My two eyes—
Bas Tainu Takki Jaavan
I just keep looking at you,
Mainu Eho Kehna Ni
I have no other wish.
Tu Mile Je Niazaan Wandaaan Peer Diyaan
If you meet, I share the blessings of the saint,
Tere Naina Di Sharaab Chon Main Jaam Bhar Laan
From the intoxication of your eyes, I drink the full cup,
Bhaave Vekh Na Sabar Ni Main Kutt Bhar Laan
Even if there is no patience left, I would still drink it all.
Tu Ghund Ch Nain Lakole Ho Gaye
Your eyes are hidden behind the veil,
Chann Badlaan De Ole Ho Gaye
Like the moon behind the clouds.
Akhhaan Neeliyaan Ne Dilaan Nu Cheer Diyaan
Your blue eyes tear through hearts,
Fakeeri Akhhaan Heer Diyaan
The simple, innocent eyes of Heer.
